Dr. Doreen Babirye is a Medical Doctor with the Uganda Ministry of Health, based at Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Mbarara University of Science and Technology. She is passionate about emergency triage, assessment, treatment, and admission care for sick children, as well as perinatal care practices. During the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Babirye worked with Uganda’s COVID-19 Treatment Unit (CTU) at Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital, where she was involved in managing quarantine and patient care. Her current research focuses on preconception sickle cell trait screening, aiming to improve maternal and child health outcomes.
