Dr. Daniel Murokora is a qualified Obstetrician-Gynaecologist with an M.Med in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MAKCHS). With 25 years of experience, he is the Co-founder of Babies and Mothers Alive (BAMA) Foundation and former President of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Uganda. He is a global leader in women’s health and a strong advocate for sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health in Uganda. Dr. Murokora serves as the Executive Director of the BAMA Foundation. He is the Reproductive Health Technical Advisor for the Uganda Ministry of Health, supporting its reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) program.
In this role, he co-chairs several Technical Working Groups, including the Maternal and Child Health TWG, Maternal Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR), and Family Planning TWG. Dr. Murokora is actively engaged with national and international partners in implementation research on RMNCAH, health systems, digital health, human capital development, and community health.
